主讲人简介：郝颖，博士、教授、博士生导师、北京师范大学经管学院学术委员会委员，国资国企研究中心主任。美国哥伦比亚大学商学院访问学者。财政部全国会计领军人才（学术类），人力资源和社会保障部干部教育培训专家，中国会计学会对外学术交流委员会委员，中国总会计师协会财务管理委员会委员，中国对外经济贸易会计学会理事。重庆市巴渝学者讲座教授。作为项目负责人，郝颖教授主持了国家自然科学基金3项，教育部人文社科基金1项。近年来，作为第一作者，在《Review of Accounting Studies》、《Financial Management》、《Pacific Basin Finance Journal》、《International Review of Financial Analysis 》、《经济研究》、《管理世界》、《管理科学学报》、《南开管理评论》、《金融研究》、《会计研究》、《财经研究》、《中国管理科学》等国内外重要学术刊物发表论文四十余篇。获第八届高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖（人文社科）。

内容简介：We examine whether air pollution surrounding the corporate headquarters matters for CEO turnover. We presume that CEOs tend to have higher quality of life requirements and are more sensitive to air pollution. Empirically, we find CEOs exposed to air pollution are more likely to depart and relocate to areas with better air quality. Moreover, we find evidence suggesting that outside successors who come from less polluted areas have a higher probability to get a promotion incentive in addition to higher compensation. Additionally, these results are more pronounced when CEOs come from relatively less polluted overseas regions and for firms that pay lower compensation to their CEOs, are located in a region with a high degree of economic development, and operate in highly competitive industries.

我们研究了公司总部周围的空气污染是否影响首席执行官（CEO）的更替。我们认为CEO对生活质量的要求更高，因此对空气污染更加敏感。根据实证检验结果，我们发现空气污染地区的CEO更有可能离职并迁往空气质量更好的地区。而来自污染较少地区的外部继任者除了获得更高的薪酬外，也更有可能获得职位晋升。此外，当CEO来自污染相对较少的海外地区时，或对于CEO薪酬较低、所处地区经济发展程度较高以及行业竞争更为激烈的公司来说，上述关系更为显著。
