    Assistant Dean of Rutgers Business School Visits SOA

    On March 13, Dietrich Tschanz, Assistant Dean of Rutgers Business School under Rutgers University in the United States, visited the School of Accounting (SOA) at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE). Tang Xuesong and Yi Yang, Vice Presidents of SOA, met with the guests in Conference Room 631, Chengzheng Building. Miao Fang and Zhang Xiaoyu from the Organization and Personnel Department, Dean's Assistant Wu Yingjie, Zeng Yuanyuan, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, and Luo Hanlin, International Faculty Affairs Specialist, attended the meeting.

    In a friendly and warm atmosphere, the two sides engaged in extensive and in-depth discussions on key topics such as the renewal of the future cooperation agreement, in-depth cooperation and exchanges, and the celebration of the 15th anniversary of cooperation between the two universities.

    During the meeting, Professor Dietrich Tschanz expressed his gratitude to SOA for their warm reception and highly praised the cooperation achievements between the two universities over the past 15 years. He noted that the cooperation between Rutgers Business School and SOA not only promoted academic exchanges but also offered valuable international vision and practical experience for teachers and students on both sides. He also stressed that 2025 will mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of SWUFE and the 15th anniversary of cooperation between the two universities. Both parties should take this opportunity to further expand exchanges and cooperation and strengthen their ties.

    In response, Tang Xuesong emphasized that SOA attached great importance to its cooperation with Rutgers Business School and eagerly anticipated more innovations and breakthroughs in their future cooperation. The renewal of the cooperation agreement is a mutual expectation and also a key step toward further developing the relationship between the two sides. He proposed that the two sides engage in deeper cooperation by jointly developing doctoral programs and providing faculty training to cultivate internationally competitive accounting talent.

    Yi Yang said that the 15th anniversary of cooperation between the two universities marks a memorable milestone and presents an important opportunity to envision the future and deepen their cooperation. The school is committed to fully supporting the implementation of cooperation projects to ensure the smooth progress of various activities as we celebrate the next 15 years.

    After the meeting, Dietrich Tschanz had lunch with our Rutgers alumni faculty from the Sustainable Faculty Program. They had fruitful discussions on promoting academic exchanges, student visits, and joint research projects.

    This visit not only laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two universities but also drew a promising blueprint for their joint development in accounting education. The cooperative relationship between SWUFE and Rutgers University will advance to a new level, allowing both sides to collaboratively write a new chapter for international educational exchanges.
